Black's Family Farm - Larry and Susan Black

Black’s Family Farm – Larry and Susan Black

The Black family’s passion for producing certified organic milk stems from three generations of farming in Manitoba. Larry and Susan Black bought their first 320 acre farm in 1978, with just three milking cows.  Today, the Black’s 1100-acre farm is known as a staple in the Manitoba organic farming world.  Creating and cultivating quality organic products has always been a family affair for the Blacks. Larry and Sue’s two daughters grew up on the farm along with their one son.  Recently their son and his wife, became partners on the farm in 2005. The two are already training their one-year-old daughter the dairy business, as she comes to watch the milking every morning.

With their dairy officially certified as organic in 2007, Sue and Larry were instrumental in developing MOM’s (Manitoba Organic Milk Co-operative Ltd.). Larry is also an active board member of Dairy Farmers of Manitoba.

The Blacks feel privileged to provide organic milk to Manitoba consumers and are thrilled to be partners with Organic Meadow.
